The News

 

It came as a shock

When I heard from the doc.

The news that my kidneys had failed

 

I tried to deny

The fear inside

But alas to no avail

 

I sat in stunned silence

But you can’t argue with science

At last it was time to leave

 

I returned to look

At my old medical books

I found the news so hard to believe

 

I tried to recall

The A & P of it all

And stared at the kidney before me

 

But no matter how hard I tried

I could no longer deny

That soon I would no longer pee
