Do you have diabetes or chronic kidney disease? Are you interested in research?
World Kidney Day, 2018 saw the launch of Research for the Future’s Help BEAT Kidney Disease programme. This is a new research theme following on from the successful Help BEAT Diabetes programme launched some time ago. Help Beat Kidney Disease is for people in the Greater Manchester area who have chronic kidney disease and its aim is to register them onto a database so that they can be informed of and invited to take part in relevant research studies. Participation in the studies is entirely voluntary and you can leave a study at any time. Registration is a simple and quick process and you’ll be joining the well established and renowned research team at Salford Royal, led by Professor Kalra and the Research for the Future team.
Professor Kalra can be seen in the video below describing the project, explaining its aims and objectives and how patients can contribute to improving treatments and generally raising awareness of chronic kidney disease.
